Partnering with the Tamil Health Organisation

The Shree Ghanapathy Temple is proud to partner with Tamils Health Organisation UK (registered charity no. 1112612) to help bring urgently needed food aid to the undernourished children and mothers of Trincomalee District in Sri Lanka.


A powerful nutritional supplement has been made of brown rice, mung beans, black gram, sesame, peanuts, and chickpeas. The grains are bought from local farmers and processed at a mill in Chavakachcheri.

This supplement will be given to:                                                                                                    

  1. Underweight children               
  2. Underweight pregnant women
  3. Underweight breastfeeding mothers in the Trincomalee District

Malnourished individuals will be identified by the Medical Officer for Health (MOH) in Trincomalee, each person will receive 1 kg of Aakaaram to eat every month and their weight gain will be monitored.

The cost of helping one malnourished individual is just £2 (800 rupees) per month.
